Review of different types of degree deodorant products

I like to try different brands and types of deodorant. It seems that there is always a new scent or type of brand to try out. I recently purchased Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant and Degree Fresh Oxygen Aerosol Deodorant. I wanted to experience and compare the differences in these two products. Here is what I discovered!
Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant is priced around four dollars, depending on where you buy this product. I have used many products with the shower clean scent and I always like the fragrance of this scent. It is a light and fresh smelling scent, it has a sweet floral and soap like quality that freshens wonderfully. That is exactly how Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant smelled, when I tried this deodorant. I was very pleased with this deodorant’s shower clean scent. It is light and not too strong.
Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant performed well for me. While it’s anti-perspirant strength was not as strong as many other brands of deodorant that I have tried, it still worked very good. Both of these Degree deodorants are body-heat activated. Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant’s active ingredient is aluminum chlorohydrate, which is an anti-perspirant. Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant’s inactive ingredients are isobutane, cyclopentasiloxane, propane, isopropyl palmitate, talc, quaternium-18 hectorite, fragrance, propylene carbonate and zea mays corn starch. I rate Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant three and one half stars out of five stars. This is a good deodorant and I enjoyed the shower fresh scent.
Degree Fresh Oxygen Aerosol Deodorant also costs around four dollars, depending on where you purchase this product. I was intrigued by the fresh oxygen scent of this product. It is an unusual scent for a deodorant, in my opinion. When I tried this deodorant, I discovered that the fragrance is fresh, clean and very nice. The scent is not as sweet and floral as the scent of Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant. This difference was interesting. I decided that I liked the scent of Degree Fresh Oxygen Aerosol Deodorant and thought that this would be a good deodorant to use on days when I did not wear a floral perfume. The fresh scent is refreshing and made this deodorant stand out from other deodorants.
Degree Fresh Oxygen Aerosol Deodorant performed very well for me and like Degree Shower Clean Aerosol Deodorant, it is not the most powerful deodorant that I have ever used, still, it did the job. I have to state that there are many much stronger deodorant products on the market. The active ingredient in Degree Fresh Oxygen Aerosol Deodorant is aluminum chlorohydrate. The inactive ingredients in this deodorant are butane, hydrofluorocarbon 152a, cyclopentasiloxane, isopropyl palmitate, talc, fragrance, quaternium-18 hectorite, propylene carbonate, zea mays corn starch and lactic acid. A note for women, both of these deodorants will burn slightly if you use directly after shaving. Both contain no CFCs and meet CA and NY clean air standards. Both of these deodorants are made in the USA.
I rate Degree Fresh Oxygen Aerosol Deodorant three and one half stars out of five stars. This is a high quality product and I enjoyed the unusual fragrance and fresh scent. Both of these deodorants are distributed by the Unilever Company located in Chicago, IL. You can find these two deodorants at most places where you usually shop for deodorant.

Degree deodorant try it!

The old fashion manufacturer’s product sample as a marketing device is alive and well at Wal-Mart. For the consumer who likes new items, but is sometimes afraid to switch from their old tried and true product, the product sample is a no cost method of discovery.
Routinely, when I purchase something on-line from Wal-Mart I will click on their samples page and check out what new product sample is available. The link for anyone to access free samples with no shipping is:
Many times a new product is advertised on T.V. and in magazines. The advertisements may give you the marketing spin, and a coupon worth a dollar toward the purchase, but the sample gives you the hands on evaluation of the product. Lastly, Wal-Mart provides a coupon with the sample. If you are happy with the product you may then use the coupon next time to purchase the item.
I have found this method of trying out new products very satisfactory. Particularly in a new product by Unilever Degree Deodorant Solid. I received my .50 ounce sample in the mail some weeks ago. The sample size is adequate to give an honest evaluation of the product. In comparing the product I am a long time user of Secret solid deodorant.
The differences between the product are as follows:
Unilever, Degree Deodorant-Ultra Clear:
This product is a solid form of deodorant as opposed to spray or roll on. It has a mild and pleasant fragrance. It is advertised as an anti-perspirant and deodorant. The active ingredient is Aluminum Zirconium Tetachlorohydrex Gly, 14.8 percent. This active ingredient is present in most anti-perspirants.
The significant difference between Degree-Ultra Clear is that the product does not rub off onto dark clothing and leave any trace of the product on your clothing. It does what is says, it will do. It is effective as a deodorant and anti-perspirant, but it does not wreck your clothing. Another good thing is that it did not cause an allergic reaction to my skin. Many products are out there, but some do affect sensitive skin.
In response to the effectiveness of the sample, I purchased a Women’s Degree Ultra Clear and a Men’s Ultra Clear Deodorant Stick. The product is excellent in both the men and women’s variety. The Men’s deodorant stick is called Silver Ice and I am told by the men in the house that the product is great. So, the sample paid off for Unilever.
Degree vs Secret Deodorant Stick:
Secret deodorant stick is a solid form of deodorant. The fragrance is mild and pleasant and is equally effective as an anti-perspirant. The only difference is the two products is that sometimes, but not often you will find a trace of the product is the arm pit area on black and navy clothing.
I have not had it appear on brown colored product, but I have on the other two. The product is useful for sensitive skin and does not cause a rash. The solid formula is good, but the new Degree Ultra Clear Product is a little better. Overall, I would rate the new Degree product line a four and the Secret line of products a three.

Women’s Mitchum Deodorant Vs Degree Deodorant

I have used Mitchum deodorant for approximately ten years. It is more expensive than some other brands, but has always been worth the extra expense to me because of how well it works. Other brands I tried had never given me the quality performance that Mitchum Cool Dry consistently provided. Recently, I saw a coupon forDegree deodorant. I had never tried this brand, so I decided to suspend using my usual brand and give the cheaper Degree a try.
My first task when choosing which type of Degree to buy was to decide on a scent. When I purchase Mitchum Cool Dry, it is usually in either the Powder Fresh or Shower Fresh scent. Both of these are pleasing, clean smelling scents that are not overpowering and don’t interfere with perfume or other scented products when I choose to wear them. I finally decided on a Degree scent called Fresh Oxygen. It smelled clean and did not appear to be too strong.
The package of Degree for Women stated that it goes on clear and won’t leave marks on your clothing. I was doubtful, since the deodorant stick looked very much like other white solids in the past that have left unsightly streaks on my clothes. My usual Mitchum Cool Dry solid is also white, but is of a different consistency than otherdeodorant solids and definitely goes on clear. I opened the stick of degree and applied it to my underarms. It went on mostly clear, with just a few white streaks that quickly disappeared. The scent was a little stronger on my body than it had been in the package, but it was still not overpowering. I did not notice any white streaks transferring to my clothing as I pulled my shirt over my head.
I tend to perspire quite a bit, so the real test for Degree came as I went forward with my day. My job sometimes requires a good deal of lifting and moving large items, and this happened to be a day full of lifting and moving. Mitchum Cool Dry deodorant has never failed me on days like this. I have never suffered embarrassing wet spots at my armpits or found myself smelling bad when using Mitchum on a normal work day. The Degree deodorant did a good job of keeping wetness at bay. I did not find any wet spots on my shirt under my arms. During my lunch break, I discreetly did a “sniff test” on my armpits. All I was able to smell was the Fresh Oxygen scent of my deodorant. The scent seemed to have intensified, if anything.
As I was undressing for my bath that night, I checked the inside of my shirt for white marks. There was a slight amount of the Degree deodorant visible on the inside of the underarms of my shirt. Mitchum Cool Dry does not leave any residue on my clothing whatsoever. I washed the shirt later in the week, and the white marks came out with no problem at all and did not cause any discoloration in the fabric.
Overall, I was pleased with the performance of the Degree deodorant. It worked well and left minimal residue on my clothing. After using it for several weeks, I have decided that the scent is a bit stronger and more noticeable than that of Mitchum Cool Dry. Once the tube is gone, I will probably go back to using my regular brand, Mitchum. Even though it is more expensive, I know it to be reliable and effective. Still, Degree has proven itself to me to be a quality, effective product. I will definitely consider using it again.

Comparing Deodorant & Antiperspirant

What is a deodorant?
A deodorant is a product that leaves a pleasant smell upon the skin. This smell masks body odor. A deodorant need not contain any active ingredient to stop perspiration. That is done by antiperspirants.
What is an antiperspirant?
Antiperspirants have an active ingredient that blocks the sweat in the glands. By blocking the sweat producing glands the Antiperspirants effectively stops the sweat coming out. Aluminum-based compounds are used as active ingredients in Antiperspirants. The most common and preferred compound in use now is- Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Glycine. US FDA has approved many other compunds of aluminium for use as Antiperspirant. But the preferred one is - Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Glycine.
US FDA categorizes Antiperspirants as OTC drug while it categorizes Deodorants as cosmetics. To get US FDA certification the Antiperspirant must comply with the conditions set by FDA. So look for US FDA approval on the pack if you have any doubt.
Use-
The manufacturer gives guideline for use of the Antiperspirants. Remember that the places where you may be using Antiperspirants such as groin area, and underarms have sensitive sin. Also these areas receive very less air and skin-to-skin contact is present most of the times. This can cause allergic reactions in many people. Use the Antiperspirants in little quantity to begin with and watch for reactions.
How To Choose an Antiperspirant-
The choice may depend on the fragrance used in the product. Ideally one should use Antiperspirants that has no fragrance to avoid allergic reactions. But most of us want our Antiperspirants to smell good.
The feel after application on the skin may be another factor. And most important - how much the product works for you? Does it stop perspiration completely for about 24 hours? If yes, that is one for you. Next time you are looking to fight problem of perspiration, read the product label carefully to know if it is only perfume or an antiperspirant.
